What we handle
A construction business license is required to take on construction work beyond the “minor works” threshold. We cover the full life cycle of the license — and, for companies aiming at public works, the Business Condition Review and bidding qualifications as well.
New license (Governor / Minister)
Requirement checks for the management manager, full-time engineer, financial base, disqualification and social-insurance conditions, then filing for a general or specified license.
License renewal (every 5 years)
Filed at least 30 days before the licence expires, together with any outstanding annual reports.
Business-category (scope) addition
Adding one or more of the 29 construction work categories to an existing license.
Annual business report
The fiscal-year-end notification, required within four months after each business year closes.
Business Condition Review (Keishin)
The gateway to public-works bidding — annual report, Business Condition Analysis (Y score) and the review filing, through to the overall rating (P score).
Bidding qualification applications
Competitive-bid qualification for the national government, prefectures and municipalities (e.g. Kanagawa, Yokohama, Kawasaki), coordinated with your Keishin result.
Other change notifications
Officer, office-address and management-manager / engineer changes, each with its own 2-week to 30-day deadline.
Related registrations
Demolition work registration and electrical work registration / notification, which run on separate systems from the construction license.
